70 Business Woman attend development experience at Whistling Straits

PGA Championship at Whistling Straits hosted 70 Wisconsin business woman for an exclusive professional development experience called “Beyond the Green.” 
Sandy Cross, Senior Director of Diversity & Inclusion, PGA of America, and Laura Kohler, Senior Vice President, Human Resources and Stewardship, Kohler Co., welcomed the group before they participated in a variety of panel discussions and networked with business and sports leaders. The women were also treated to a behind-the-scenes and inside-the-ropes tour of the grounds led by Suzy Whaley, PGA/LPGA, Secretary, PGA of America, and Mike O’Donnell, Senior Director, Player Development, PGA of America.
“We’re thrilled to have hosted a day of engaging panels with leaders who carried the conversation about business growth, professional development, and how golf fits perfectly with this process,” said Sandy Cross,. “It’s important that the golf industry invites women to learn and play the game, and events like Beyond the Green showcase the role golf has played in the personal and professional lives of these leaders. The growth of the sport depends on welcoming women to the game.”
Scott Eblin, Co-Founder and President of The Eblin Group and author of Overworked and Overwhelmed: The Mindfulness Alternative shared “The Mindful Alternative to an Always On World” in his keynote address. Elbin encouraged the group to ‘show up at your best’ and take advantage of mindfulness in everyday life – at home, work and community.
In total, 5.7 million women played golf last year, or 23 percent of the total 24.7 million golfers in the U.S.
