NOW: ATF investigating explosions of “highly volatile device“ in New Berlin

MILWAUKEE (CBS 58) -- A $5,000 reward is being offered for information about recent explosions in New Berlin.

ATF officials say they are offering the large amount of money because they consider it a very dangerous situation and future explosions could cause significant injuries or death.

Authorities say there were two explosions on Coffee Road and right now agents with the ATF are busy investigating to find out who detonated them.

One happened Saturday morning and the other Monday afternoon. ATF officials say investigators are collecting evidence at the scene, but they there are several missing pieces they need to put together so they can make an arrest in this case.

Joel Lee a Special Agent with the ATF in Wisconsin said, “This is a highly volatile device that can cause extreme injuries and it's very dangerous. It's a danger to the public. It can be a danger to the person to makes them.”

No injuries were reported from either explosion.

If you have any information you're asked to call police or the ATF. Officials say any piece of information leading to an arrest is helpful.
