California man dies in motorcycle accident in Rock County

A medical condition may have led to a motorcycle crash that resulted in a 68-year-old man from California's death.

Authorities say the accident occurred just before 3 p.m. on Wednesday on I-43 northbound in Rock County.

The report says that the rider of the motorcycle was traveling northbound on I-43 when he traveled across the grass median divide, lost control of the motorcycle, traveled into the southbound traffic lanes, and crashed into a concrete bridge barrier near the right shoulder area.

The motorcycle rider sustained injuries to his shoulder, chest and right leg. He was alert and conscious on the scene and was transported to a hospital.

The victim was being treated and operated on at a hospital and ultimately ended up passing away.

The investigation into this accident is still ongoing.
