Car fire spreads to home in Racine, causing $35,000 in damage

RACINE, Wis. (CBS 58) – A car fire was quickly put out in Racine before it extended into a home early Thursday morning.

Authorities say they were called to the area near 11th St. and Davis Pl. around 3:11 a.m.

When crews got to the scene, the fire was spreading to a nearby home. Firefighters were able to put out the fire before it got into the home. No one was hurt. The damage is estimated at $35,000.

The Red Cross is helping three adults and two children.
