Lake Geneva officers use license plate technology to find missing 3-month-old girl

LAKE GENEVA, Wis. (CBS 58) -- On Wednesday evening around 8:45 Lake Geneva Police Officers got information that a 3-month-old girl was missing from Mount Pleasant. The suspect was a 49-year-old man who may have been in Lake Geneva.

Mount Pleasant detectives searched a shared database that stores license plates when they are detected and learned that two separate Lake Geneva patrol cars passed the suspect's car in Lake Geneva.

Once officers were given a description of the car they recognized it as a car parked near the Lake Geneva Public Library. Another officer recognized the suspect, Craig Conway, as a man he saw with a child on Riviera Beach while on foot patrol.

Officers located the car near the downtown business district and found Conway and the child still on the beach. He was taken into custody without incident and the child was reunited with her mother.
