Racine & Me September 24, 2017: Racine Mayoral Primary Race, Baby Expo Breastfeeding, and the Pink Paddling Power

Jacob Kittilstad scolded voters in Racine for not having a higher turn-out in the recent election. Two candidates have advanced from the special mayoral primary: Rep. Cory Mason and Ald. Sandy Weidner. Jacob also hinted at preliminary plans for a televised forum involving both candidates.

Next, the group Racine Kenosha Community Action came to the studio to talk about their 5th Annual Baby Expo. The purpose of the event is to connect future, expecting, and new mothers with resources to help improve the region's infant mortality rate. Popular aspects of the event include a discussion on breastfeeding and the Daddy Diaper Derby. Click here for more information

Every year the team collects money at a wine tasting to fund the following years Dragon Boat Race entries. What makes their team special is that every member of their 22-person team is a breast cancer survivor. Click here for more information
