MILWAUKEE (CBS 58) -- An author, pressing to see a change in Milwaukee's reckless driving stats, led residents on a walking tour Tuesday night, of some of the city's most dangerous intersections.
They started at 27th and North Avenue.
AARP Wisconsin, which has been instrumental in working with the city on the installation of some traffic calming measures, joined author Jonathan Stalls, founder of Pedestrian Dignity, focusing on how to make the city safer for pedestrians.
"I mean reckless driving, it's a real thing, it happens. But I always like to layer it deeper, it's like the conditions of the way the road is designed, you know, like the conditions of the road are basically giving permission to any driver to just blaze through," said Stalls.
Stalls says Milwaukee needs to see changes to help pedestrians on foot, in wheelchairs, and those taking the bus, to be able to stay safe.
