UPDATE, 4/14/25, 9:15 a.m. -- The Milwaukee Medical Examiner's Office has identified the victim as 44-year-old Jerry Branch. 

MILWAUKEE (CBS 58) -- Milwaukee police say a 44-year-old driver is dead following an early morning single-vehicle crash on Sunday, April 13.

Officials say the incident happened at around 3:14 a.m., near North Doctor Martin Luther King Jr. and Galena Ave.

A 45-year-old passenger was taken to the hospital. They are expected to survive. 

Police say the vehicle was reported to be traveling at a high rate of speed at the time of the crash. 

The investigation is ongoing. Anyone with information is urged to contact MPD.
