MILWAUKEE (CBS 58) -- Milwaukee County's Cool Waters Aquatic Park in Greenfield Park became the first county water facility to open since 2019 due to the pandemic.
"It was difficult," said swimmer Jim Delwiche of Brookfield. "I mean we had very nice weather and the pool was never open and I mean, you can only ride your bike so much and I really, really missed outdoor swimming. And it's finally fun to be back doing some outdoor swimming."
The park is only one of four pools and water parks set to open this summer due to a lifeguard shortage.
The other three facilities will open some time next month.
All other locations will remain closed.
