Investigators are looking for the cause of a fire at Advance Die Casting that sent an employee to the hospital.
The Milwaukee Fire Department responded around 12:30 a.m. December 15 to the business in the 3700 block of N. Holton Street. Officials say the source of the fire was an aluminum blast furnace used to melt aluminum, although the exact cause of the fire is unknown.
An employee was taken to a local hospital with burns. That employee's condition was not immediately available.
Fire officials say this was a dangerous call because firefighters can't immediately put water on molten aluminum.
The fire remains under investigation.
