Flash flood warning issued for Milwaukee and Waukesha counties as fairgoers, drivers battle intense rain
MILWAUKEE, Wis. (CBS 58) -- People throughout Southeast Wisconsin are battling intense flooding and storms during the night of Sat. Aug. 9.
These pictures captured people at Wisconsin State Fair trying to leave as they worked their way through the flooded parking lots and exits.
Many people also hiding out in stores to stay dry before trying to make their way to the exit.
And parking lots flooded not only with water, but cars as people scrambled to get off the fairgrounds.
And on the highways, many drivers work their way through the street conditions. Some travelers barreling through the excess water, along Wisconsin Highway 175 at the Stadium Interchange.
And video inside American Family Field shows a leaky enclosed roof as rain got into the ballpark as the Brewers took on the Mets.
A spokesperson with the Milwaukee General Mitchell Airport also confirmed with CBS 58 that some flights were delayed today due to the storms.
There is currently a flash flood warning issued for Milwaukee and Waukesha Counties. It is set to be in effect until Sun. Aug. 9, until 2:00 a.m.
