Josh Walters was one of three men who was hit by a vehicle on June 16 near 20th and Fond du Lac Ave. in Milwaukee.
Now nearly a week and a half later, family members tell CBS 58 that Walters is starting to make progress.
Walters suffered a broken hip, pelvis, legs, and right arm.
Since the crash, he's had several surgeries, and he's expected to have one final major surgery later this week.
Joanna Walters, Walters' mom, says it will be a spinal surgery for a collapsed lumbar.
Sunday, Walters was able to respond to yes and no question by moving his head for the first time since the accident.
Walters, a father of 3 with the youngest being born just 10 days before, has a long road to recovery ahead of him.
That's why a GoFundMe page has been set up.
“They have a lot of expenses ahead of them. Because the driver was uninsured, their own health care insurance will have to cover this, and there will be no other recourse beyond that. And of course, we all know, there is a cap on health insurance, and because josh’s recovery is expected to be lengthy, they’ll probably cap that out pretty quickly," Walters mother said.

CBS 58 did reach out to Milwaukee Police to get an update on the driver and see if she’ll face any charges, we have not yet heard back.
