MILWAUKEE (CBS 58) -- The man tied to the high-profile arrest of Milwaukee County Judge Hannah Dugan appeared in both state and federal court Thursday, May 8.
A judge granted the request from Eduardo Flores-Ruiz's attorney to withdraw from the case.
A new public defender will be appointed before his next state hearing on May 14.
He faces three misdemeanor counts of assault and domestic abuse related to a March 12 incident where he allegedly assaulted three people after being asked to lower loud music.
Later in the day, Flores-Ruiz pleaded not guilty to two federal charges, including re-entering the US illegally after a 2013 deportation and allegedly attempting to flee from ICE agents in April.
He's due back in court next month.
