Tunnel entrance ramp to close as next phase of I-43 lighting work begins

MILWAUKEE (CBS 58) -- The Wisconsin Department of Transportation will begin the next phase of its tunnel light replacement project in Milwaukee County on Monday, April 14.
According to WisDOT, the Kilbourn Avenue entrance ramp to northbound I-43 is scheduled to close by 7 a.m. Monday and remain closed for about two months while crews replace the lighting system. They recommend using 6th Street or WIS 145 as alternate routes.
The Kilbourn Avenue exit ramp tunnel to northbound I-43, which had been closed, is scheduled to reopen to traffic by 3 p.m. Friday, April 11.
WisDOT noted all construction schedules remain weather dependent and subject to change.
