4th of July 2022: List of fireworks, cancelations and rescheduled events happening in southeast Wisconsin

MILWAUKEE (CBS 58) -- Celebrating Independence Day this 2022, several events including parades and fireworks are set for across southeast Wisconsin. CBS 58 compiled a list for you to see what's happening. 

BROOKFIELD

Independence Day Activities | Brookfield, WI - Official Website

All Independence Day Activities will be held on Monday, July 4, 2022

Parade steps off at 10 a.m. 

Calhoun Road will close at approximately 9:30 a.m.

The parade will continue until all units have completed the route. In a typical year this ends at 11:30 a.m. - 12:00 p.m.

Family Fest is in full swing at Mitchell Park from 6-9 p.m. This annual pre-fireworks event features family-oriented activities and a variety of food, and entertainment. Come on out to the park earlier and find parking, have a picnic, enjoy the activities and entertainment, and stay for the fireworks extravaganza.

*There is no rain date for Family Fest* 

Fireworks will be held on Monday, July 4, 2022 - Rain date is Tuesday, July 5.

The fireworks begin at approximately 9:17 p.m. 

BROWN DEER

BURLINGTON

Fireman's Dance July 4 | Burlington Chamber of Commerce

The City of Burlington Fireman's Dance

When: Monday, July 4
Where: Echo Park- Burlington WI
Time: 2 p.m.
Band: Twin Rivers Band 5-9:30 p.m.

There will be food and drinks throughout the day, and live music by Twin Rivers Band in the evening. Bring cash!

"Due to possible severe weather in Burlington tonight, the July 4 fireworks display has been postponed to a later date. The safety concern of the public is of utmost importance to the City of Burlington. As the fireworks vendor needs to start setting up the display beginning at 1 pm, the disappointing decision to postpone the July 4th show needed to be made well in advance of the show’s starting time to keep the community safe.

Staff is working with the vendor to reschedule the show. As soon as the new date is available it will be announced on social media and the City website."

CEDARBURG

Fourth of July Parade & Hometown Celebration information website

Parade at 10 a.m., followed by daylong picnic in the park, with food and beverages served by the Cedarburg Lions Club. Special performance by the Madison Scouts in Cedar Creek Park following the parade.

CUDAHY

City of Cudahy, WI events and celebrations

The Fourth of July Parade is on Packard Avenue. The parade kicks off at noon. The Parade will start at Grange and Packard, running north to Layton Avenue turning east on Layton Avenue, and ending at Sheridan Park. Following the parade, start day long activities at Sheridan Park including afternoon and evening events such as an opening ceremony, performances by Cudahy Junior Packer Cheer, Cudahy High School Pon Poms, CHS varsity and Jr. Varsity Cheer Teams, and Showcase Dance Studio, Glen Gerard Magic Productions and musical acts. Capping off the day are the fantastic fireworks in Sheridan Park at approximately 9:20.

Food is available for purchase next to the Pavilion at Sheridan Park from the Cudahy Lions Club.

DELAFIELD

The City of Delafield 4th of July Fireworks over Lake Nagawicka will begin at dusk. The start time on this event notice is only approximate (dusk/9:30 pm). The annual Nagawicka Lake Fireworks will be held on Saturday, July 2nd, 2022. 

Rain Date: July 3, 2022

Viewing locations: Naga-waukee County Park and Beach (bathrooms on site).

Boat parking/mooring at Naga-Waukee beach is prohibited within 50 feet of swim buoys.1

Delafield 4th of July parade route

Delafield parade staging will begin at 9 a.m. in the City Hall/Library parking lot on Oneida Street. At 10 a.m. the parade will proceed north on Oneida Street, east onto Main Street then south to the American Legion Post (333 N Lapham Peak Road).

EAST TROY

East Troy Fireworks

The East Troy Lions Club's fireworks display will be on Sunday, July 3 at dusk at the Amusement Park, 3072 Graydon Ave.

The Lions Club will ring in the nation's birthday with its annual Fourth of July Celebration, the East Troy Music Festival, on Friday, July 1 through Sunday, July 3. The festival features the famous East Troy Beer Tent (ETBT), live music daily at three venues, carnival, games, fair food and more.

The parade will start at noon on Sunday, July 3.

FRANKLIN

July 4 Parade: Children's Parade at 10:30 a.m.; Main Parade at 11 a.m. The Children's Parade is an annual tradition with the kids decorating their bikes, wagons, and strollers in patriotic red, white, and blue colors (no motorized vehicles allowed). No registration is required for the Children's parade. Kids with an adult can be dropped off at the front parking lot of the Franklin Police Department, 9455 W. Loomis Road, by 10 a.m. (vehicles are not allowed to park in any area of the Police Department parking lot). 

"Sad news, everyone. Due to the impending precipitous weather, the Civic Celebration fireworks have been canceled for tonight. This was decided by the committee after reviewing other municipalities responses and monitoring the radar. There will not be a reschedule date."

GERMANTOWN

Germantown 4th of July event information  

Parade takes place Monday, July 4 at 3 p.m. 

Parade information: line-up near Pilgrim Road & Mequon Road, travel north on Pilgrim Road to Fond du Lac Avenue to Main Street; west on Main Street to Park Avenue; north onto Park Avenue to end at Freistadt Road.

Festivities at Firemen's Park festivities 4-9 p.m., located at Corner of Park Avenue & Freistadt Road, Germantown, WI 53022 (event is free)

"The Germantown Independence Day 4th of July Committee has determined that due to the impeding weather in the Germantown area and the concern for the safety of the public, the 4th of July Parade has been CANCELLED and tonight’s fireworks have been postponed.

The fireworks, music and food have been rescheduled for 5:00pm tomorrow night at Fireman’s Park with fireworks at dusk."

GLENDALE

Glendale's 4th of July event information

Glendale’s 4th of July celebration attendees can expect a parade extravaganza, a food truck festival, live music from The Toys, bouncy houses, summer soak, dunk tank and of course a grand fireworks display

Parade Extravaganza will be held at 10 a.m.

Children's parade starts at 1- a.m., followed by various other acts at 10:30 a.m. along Milwaukee River Parkway

Food Truck Festival will be held at 11:30 a.m. to 9 p.m., featuring a variety of snacks, desserts, entrees, beverages, and treats

Mayors welcome will be held at Noon, including a flag ceremony by Troop 393 of the Boy Scouts and the collection of worn flags for proper retirement

Super Soak will be held at 2 p.m., rain for about 30 minutes courtesy of the North Shore Fire Department

Live Music from The Toys will be held 6-9 p.m.

"The City of Glendale has canceled its fireworks for this evening. Live music and food are still happening under the big top tent. The Toys perform at 6 pm."

GREENDALE

Village of Greendale 4th of July events information website

Due to another night of anticipated inclement weather the fireworks have been rescheduled for Saturday, July 9 at dusk

GREENFIELD

Greenfield 4th of July parade information website 

UPDATE: The City of Greenfield has POSTPONED the Festival Foods Fireworks display scheduled for July 4th at Konkel Park. They will now be held Friday, July 8 at 9:45 p.m. at Konkel Park.

The Parade is still scheduled to begin at 12:15.

Please watch City of Greenfield social media for updates as conditions warrant and additional schedule changes.

Parade will start at approximately 12:15 p.m. with the House of Harley leading the way. The one mile route will run east on Layton Avenue to Konkel Park.

HALES CORNERS

KENOSHA

Kenosha fireworks take place July 4 at 9:30 p.m. in Harbor Park 

The Festival Foods Fireworks will light up the sky over the lakefront. Plan to arrive early in the day to stake out a premium spot with your blanket or lawn chairs. Fireworks are staged at Celebration Place east of the public museums on First Avenue. Pack a picnic or choose from a selection of hot, fresh food from local vendors. Admission is FREE.

MILWAUKEE 

The city of Milwaukee announced the postponed Independence Day fireworks have been rescheduled and will take place on the evening of Tuesday, Aug. 2, in parks throughout the city.

Fireworks will begin at 9:15 p.m. at the originally-schedule County Parks:

  • Alcott Park
  • Gordon Park
    • Due to ongoing construction along N. Humboldt Blvd., parking will be available at Riverside High School’s parking lot for the evening fireworks display.
  • Humboldt Park
  • Jackson Park
  • Lake Park
  • Lincoln Park

  • Noyes Park
  • Washington Park
  • Wilson Park

This rescheduled date coincides with National Night Out and will not interfere with programming that is currently scheduled at the Milwaukee County Parks listed above.

NEW BERLIN

Main Parade: Parade begins at 1 p.m. on July 4

The parade will be on National Avenue, starting at Coffee Road and proceeding west to Al Stigler Parkway.
National Avenue from Sunnyslope Road to Moorland Road will be closed from 11 a.m. - 3 p.m. National Avenue from Moorland Road to Calhoun Road will be closed from 12:30-3 p.m.

OAK CREEK

PORT WASHINGTON

RACINE

Racine 4th Fest information website information

Monday, July 4, pre-parade at 8:30am. The pre-parade features the noisy police cars, fire engines, military vehicles, classic cars, tractors, etc. The parade steps off at 9 a.m.

Parade route is 2.6 miles along Main Street – starting officially at Goold St. and Main St. moving south around the turn up 14th Street.
The streets start to close on the north end at 7 a.m. moving south and will be fully closed around 8 a.m. The earliest you can claim your spot on the parade route is 5 a.m.

Racine's 4th Fest fireworks begin at dusk on July 4 

SHEBOYGAN

Sheboygan Independence Day/Freedom Fest information website

Sheboygan's Independence Day Parade begins at 9 a.m. - North 8th Street & Centre Avenue to Michigan Avenue to Broughton Drive 

Freedom Fest brings music, food, and fun to Deland Park until 9:30 p.m. Monday.

Festival fireworks postponed until Tuesday, July 5 at 9:30 p.m.

SHOREWOOD

"UPDATE AS OF 12:45pm: Good afternoon, Shorewood. We were hopeful with the earlier message regarding the parade and we're sorry to send this unfortunate update. We have been watching the forecasted chance for storms in the area and the most recent numbers look too high to host the parade after all. SOUTH MILWAUKEE

"With thunderstorms and significant rain expected this evening, the City of South Milwaukee fireworks show will be postponed to a later date. Safety of spectators and staff is the most important factor in the decision. The new date has not yet been determined."

SUSSEX

WEST ALLIS

"After reviewing the potential for severe weather in our area, the City of West Allis Events Committee has made the difficult decision to postpone tonight’s Independence Day Grandstand show and Festival Foods Fireworks display at State Fair Park.

While this decision is disappointing for everyone, after conferring with multiple agencies and departments including our Police and Fire Departments, along with our fireworks vendor, the safety of everyone is of the greatest importance and the event cannot go on.

Our events committee is looking at future dates to reschedule the show. When a new date is confirmed, it will be announced on the City website and our social media channels. We thank you for your understanding and have a happy and safe Fourth of July."

WEST BEND

Where: Corner of Silver Spring Drive and Kent Avenue. The parade heads east on Silver Spring Drive, continuing north on Lake Drive to Klode Park. 

Klode Park events: Games for kids of all ages 1-4 p.m. All games require one ticket for 50 cents.

"Due to predicted severe weather and out of concern for the safety of the public, vendors and volunteers, the Sendik's fireworks display is being postponed until tomorrow evening (July 5th at 9:30pm).

This decision was not taken lightly and was made after conferring with the Whitefish Bay Civic Foundation, National Weather Service, The Whitefish Bay Police Department and our fireworks vendor. The safety of everyone is of the utmost importance and the show cannot proceed.

Today's other festivities at Klode Park will continue, weather permitting. Please join us tomorrow night for the rescheduled firework display. Food vendors will be available tomorrow evening beginning at 5:00 p.m.
