9-year-old boy hit by pick-up truck in Sheboygan

SHEBOYGAN, Wis. (CBS 58) – A 9-year-old boy is expected to be okay after police in Sheboygan say he was hit by a pick-up truck.

The crash happened around 4:30 Tuesday afternoon at the intersection of North 17th Street and Erie Avenue. Investigators say the pick-up was stopped at the intersection headed northbound on 17th Street at Erie and when the light turned green, the vehicle turned eastbound onto Erie Avenue hitting the boy who was in the crosswalk.

The boy was taken to the hospital with cuts and bruises and is being kept for observation.

The driver of the pick-up truck, a 66-year-old Sheboygan man, was cited for driving without a license and failing to yield to the right of way to a pedestrian in the crosswalk.
