Applebee's in Wauwatosa closing down after 12 years

WAUWATOSA, Wis. (CBS 58) -- After 12 years in Wauwatosa, the Applebee's located near 68th and State is saying goodbye.
The Apple Hospitality Group announced on Wednesday that the location will be closing.
The last day of operation will be January 15, 2019.
All Applebee's employees will have the opportunity to stay with the company and work in any of the other Applebee's restaurants.
WHG released a statement which said in part,
"In an ever-changing restaurant category, AHG must continually assess its restaurant asset base and make decisions accordingly. As the restaurant located at 6750 West State Street nears the end of its lease, company owners have made the difficult decision to close the restaurant after serving our wonderful guests in the Wauwatosa area for the past 12 years."
The closest location for Wauwatosa guests will be the restaurant at 1843 Miller Park Way which opened this past summer.
