Bango celebrates winners of Racine elementary school's Fresh Air Science Fair

RACINE, Wis. (CBS 58) -- Fifth graders at Julian Thomas Elementary School in Racine received special recognition for their participation in an almost two-month-long Fresh Air Science Fair.

The students kicked off the fair on Feb. 1, and groups created teams and submitted projects -- bringing clean air pollution concepts to life. Entries were judged on quality of research and data analysis, and the creativity of their presentation.

Milwaukee Bucks mascot Bango and trampoline dunking team, the Rim Rockers, attended the award assembly Wednesday, March 27, where winners were announced and prizes were awarded.

Each member of the first-place team received three tickets to the April 10 Bucks game against the Orlando Magic, transportation to and from the game and concession stand vouchers to use at Fiserv Forum during the game. Second and third-place winning teams won Bucks merchandise.

The event is put on through a partnership between Modine, Milwaukee Bucks, Racine Unified School District and United Way of Racine County.

Congratulations to all the winners.
