MILWAUKEE (CBS 58) – The Starr’s are back in Green Bay. We are talking about Bart and Cherry Starr of course, who are back in town for Sunday's game against the Saints and the 50th-anniversary reunion of the ice bowl team.
Members of Rawhide Ranch presented Bart and his wife Cherry with a paddle on Friday. Bart’s emotional reaction reflects the joy of a couple that returned to the city they called home for more than three decades.
“I feel very grateful," said Starr. I'm extremely happy to be here with my wonderful wife."
"Two months ago if anyone had told me we would be back here in Green Bay, I would never have believed it because of Bart's condition,” said Cherry Starr. “He has just made the most remarkable recovery in the last two months. We love the city so much we love the people. It is really our adopted home.”
Bart and Cherry Starr are also making donations to the Packers as well on Monday. Championship rings are among the items being donated by the Starr family to the Packers Hall of Fame. Bart's 50th Anniversary Super Bowl MVP jacket will also be donated by the Starrs.
