Bird Lays Eggs on Easter Wreath in Arizona
WADDELL, AZ (KPHO/KTVK) - A mother finch seems to have taken over for the Easter bunny for a Arizona family, according to CBS Phoenix.
Chas Rocco has an Easter wreath on his front door at his house in Waddell. On Good Friday, he noticed on top of the wreath was a nest filled with eggs.
"Who knew the Easter bunny was a bird," Rocco said.
Most of the time, the family tries to leave the bird family alone but when they do come out for a peak at the nest, the mamma bird keeps watch over her babies at the top of the house.
The Rocco's have a couple of cats that they're trying to keep out of the birds' way.
"We're going to give them their peace and we'll use the other door," Rocco said. "We don't want her to get spooked so she doesn't want to come back. I've never bottle fed a little bird and I don't know if I really want to."
The eggs should hatch in about two weeks as long as mother finch remembers which eggs
