Bug N Out Lounge liquor license suspended for 3 months following fatal shooting
WEST ALLIS, Wis. (CBS 58) -- A West Allis bar owner's liquor license will be suspended for 90 days.
The full West Allis Council approved the plan in a unanimous vote Tuesday, April 18.
It comes after the fatal shooting of a 12-year-old boy during a birthday party in February.
Ronnell Smith was killed, and another child was injured, after a shooting occurred in the upstairs bar of Bug N Out Lounge.
A father and daughter rented the space for a 17-year-old's birthday party and more than 100 kids showed up. Police allege at least six of those in attendance had guns on them, per a security video.
Owner Amy Thompson's liquor license requires the bar provide security on weekend nights, but only Thompson and a bartender were working downstairs that evening.
Seventeen-year-old Lawrence Griffin has been charged in the shooting.
