Burlington Police Sergeant under investigation following allegations of sexual harassment
BURLINGTON, Wis. (CBS 58) -- The City of Burlington Police Department is conducting an internal investigation regarding Sergeant Matthew Baumhardt and allegations of conduct including sexual harassment, neglect of duty, unbecoming conduct, and non-conformance to law.
The allegations occurred on or around July 29, 2018, Burlington Police confirm.
The Kenosha County Sheriff's Department is handling a related criminal investigation.
Baumhardt was hired by the City of Burlington in 2011.
According to the Chief of Police, Baumhardt has been on administrative leave since August 1, 2018.
The City of Burlington says they take all allegations seriously and will thoroughly investigate this matter.
