MILWAUKEE (CBS 58) -- Milwaukee-based indie artist Carmen Nickerson joined us live Thursday, Nov. 16, offering a preview of her new album "Room to Grow" set for release on Saturday, Nov. 18. The album is Nickerson's first solo studio project, and she was joined by Kostia Efimov and John Wheeler in her performance.
Co-produced with songwriter Willy Porter and engineered by Kevin Arndt, the album features eight tracks that blend a variety of genres, reflecting Nickerson's diverse musical influences.
The songs on "Room to Grow" draw from Nickerson's personal experiences, exploring themes of growth, relationships and self-reflection. Standout tracks include "Emily," a tribute to a close friend, and "Spiritual Playboy," a narrative on the complexities of relationships. The album is set to be available on digital streaming platforms and in physical copies.
Fans of Nickerson's CBS 58 performance have the opportunity to see her live at multiple venues in the coming days. Her album release show is scheduled for Nov. 19 at Saint Kate in Milwaukee, at The Packing House in Milwaukee on Nov. 22, at East Towne Square Mall in Mequon on Nov. 25, a day that will also see her performing at Vino Cappuccino in Brookfield. Nickerson will also appear at Art of Joy in Cedarburg on Nov. 26.
