Cedarburg man allegedly stole father's Packers memorabilia, other belongings valued at $7,000
OZAUKEE COUNTY, Wis. (CBS 58) -- A Cedarburg man is facing theft charges after allegedly stealing his father's Packers memorabilia to support his heroin habit.
According to the criminal complaint, officers were dispatched to a home on Essex Court in the City of Cedarburg to speak with a man who came home and saw that his Warren Spahn autographed picture on the wall had been taken without his permission.
It happened on August 9.
The man told police that he believed his son, Donald Gerth Jr. ad taken it to support his heroin habit. The man also told police that his son had routinely stolen items from the home to sell for drugs over the past year.
Gerth Jr. had allegedly taken two Aaron Rodgers mini helmets, a Jordy Nelson autographed mini helmet, a Gale Sayers autographed mini helmet, a men's wedding ring, an autographed Ernie Banks baseball, and a variety of other sports memorabilia that he valued at approximately $7,000.
Officers made contact with Gerth Jr. who admitted to stealing the various items to support his heroin addiction over the past 6 years.
