City of Milwaukee launches #LoveMKE campaign to celebrate Valentine's Day

MILWAUKEE (CBS 58) – In the spirit of Valentine's Day, The Hop and the city of Milwaukee is asking residents to participate in the #LoveMKE campaign.

The campaign starts now through Sunday, February 24 and will feature love-themed decorations on The Hop streetcars and select stations.

To participate in the #LoveMKE campaign, streetcar riders, Milwaukee residents or anyone who loves our great city is invited to post a reason they love Milwaukee on Twitter, Facebook or Instagram using the hashtag #LoveMKE. The post can be a selfie, photo of a Milwaukee landmark, short video, quote or anything else that expresses some reason Milwaukee is special.

Anyone who posts using the #LoveMKE hashtag from February 11-24 will be automatically entered into a drawing for a $100 gift card to the Milwaukee Public Market.

“Since launching The Hop, support from our businesses, residents and visitors has been tremendous,” Milwaukee Mayor Tom Barrett said. “This Valentine’s Day continue to celebrate with us while sharing what makes Milwaukee special to you.”

On Valentine's Day, the Milwaukee Downtown Public Service Ambassadors will be riding The Hop throughout the day handing out Valentines that double as coupons to popular destinations along the route. The Wicked Hop, Pita Pit and Oak & Shield Gaming Pub are all participating in the Valentine’s Day promotion.
