Community College of Philadelphia on lockdown after gun report

(CNN)The Community College of Philadelphia was on lockdown Tuesday morning after police received a report that a man pulled a gun on a student.

No shots or injuries were immediately reported.

Someone called 911 around 9:30 a.m. to report that a man had pulled a gun on a student outside a campus building as the two argued, Philadelphia Police Commissioner Charles Ramsey said.

The man with the gun then entered the building, which police eventually searched. After not finding the man, officers were searching other campus buildings out of an abundance of caution, he said.

"Right now, what we want to do is make sure that he's not a threat to anyone else in this area," Ramsey said.

The school, in a tweet posted shortly before 11 a.m. ET, said the college's main campus was on lockdown because of "police activity."

"Police activity on campus. Main campus is locked down at this point. Shelter in place in progress," the tweet reads.
