Crews fight suspected meth lab fire in Adams County, sheriff says
ADAMS, Wis. - Emergency crews in Adams County are responding to a suspected meth lab fire in the city of Adams on Main Street this afternoon, Sheriff Sam Wollin confirmed to News 3.
Wollin said preliminary information from the fire department said there were items located in a house fire in the 100 block of South Main Street that would be consistent with manufacturing meth.
A victim who was taken by MedFlight to Madison also allegedly confirmed that there was a meth lab in the home, Wollin said.
Crews have put out the fire at the home, Wollin said, but deputies are securing the scene until the Division of Criminal Investigation can arrive to investigate further. He said the sheriff's department is also in the process of applying for a warrant to further search the home.
While the investigation is underway, officials say Highway 13 north and south is closed in the city of Adams at the 100 Block of South Main Street. They're asking drivers in that area to follow a marked detour.
