MILWAUKEE (CBS 58) -- Storytelling is one of the oldest forms of entertainment, but one particular group of people has often been left out. To combat such exclusion, Ex Fabula is hosting its fourth annual Deaf StorySlam next week.
Brian Peters, a storytelling coach was joined by his interpreter Nicole Keeler on CBS 58 on Wednesday, Nov. 2.
More information was revealed about the experience of the Deaf StorySlam, as well as the importance of storytelling and combating the hurdle of doing so despite being deaf.
Deaf storytellers will offer true and personal stories with the theme of "explosive encounters," including surprises, confrontations, miscommunications and accidents - happy or otherwise.
The StorySlam is conducted fully in American Sign Language, with interpretation into spoken English.
The event will take place at Anodyne Coffee in Walker's Point on Wednesday, Nov. 9 at 7:00 p.m. Admission is free, but reserving a spot is requested.
