"Death is only one touch away:" Racine man charged after making inappropriate comments to kids
RACINE, Wis. (CBS 58) -- A Racine man accused of making inappropriate comments towards a group of kids back in 2018 was charged on Monday.
Matthew Madsen, 50, is charged with disorderly conduct.
According to the criminal complaint, three children ages 5, 13, and 15, were outside of their home on Rapids Drive on September 24, 2018 when a male suspect allegedly approached them.
The children were being watched by their aunt who said the man seemed harmless until he tried to hug one of the children. He then allegedly said to the children "Death is only one touch away" and "If I had money we would have sex."
The children's aunt called the whole encounter "creepy" and took the children inside out of fear for their safety.
One of the children noticed the man outside of the home again a few days later.
The children's mother took a picture of the suspect and posted it on Facebook in an attempt to identify him.
People responded to the post, identifying the man as Madsen, the complaint alleges.
Madsen was taken into custody.
