Donald Driver, volunteers help spruce up homes in Milwaukee's Amani neighborhood
MILWAUKEE (CBS 58) -- Former Green Bay Packers player Donald Driver spent Saturday morning fixing up houses in Milwaukee’s Amani neighborhood.
Driver teamed up with volunteers from Northwestern Mutual Aid and Habitat for Humanity for a Rock the Block event.
Volunteers helped out with small home repairs like painting and landscaping.
He says events like this is all about giving back to the community.
“These families would never expect someone of my caliber to come home to help build their house for them. It’s about putting a smile on their faces and knowing that you care for them and for me that’s the biggest smile you can ever give someone,” Driver said.
The Amani neighborhood is one of three neighborhoods Northwestern Mutual supports through projects like this.
