Downtown employees recognized with daily coffee and lunch
MILWAUKEE (CBS 58) -- Downtown Milwaukee employees are being recognized all week long with coffee, lunch and fun.
For 18 years, the Downtown Business Improvement District has hosted Employee Appreciation Week.
It kicked off with rainy festivities at Red Arrow Park. 1,000 employees got a slice of Ian's Pizza and a cookie from Davian's. On Tuesday, sub sandwiches were given away at Cathedral Square.
On Wednesday, the festivities continued at Schlitz Park. Lunch included bratwursts, chips and cookies, but it started with cold brew coffee from Pilcrow.
"We've had over 60 downtown partners contribute to Employee Appreciation Week and Pilcrow is just one of the great ones," said Rebecca Button, the marketing, events and social media director for Milwaukee Downtown BID #21
For Lauren Quintas, the tenant experience specialist at Schlitz Park, it's just another way to help connect employees and improve work-life balance.
"Just pulling everyone back from work-from-home," said Quintas. "We try to do things that are really engaging, so whether it's giveaways or we do activities on campus."
At Wednesday's Night Market on Wisconsin Ave., employees of downtown will get a free drink when they show a work card or badge.
