Drive-in movie theater coming to Milwaukee's Midtown, Near West Side neighborhoods

MILWAUKEE (CBS 58) -- Milwaukee's Midtown and Near West Side neighborhoods are getting a first-of-its-kind, drive-in movie theater.

Located at Harley Davidson on 35th and Juneau in Milwaukee, the drive-in will feature live performances, free giveaways, food and a talk back led by Black Lens of Milwaukee Film -- while keeping safety in mind.

Tickets are available HERE for $5 per vehicle. There is room for 60 cars in total.

"Akeelah and the Bee" is the first movie set for the theater Friday, Aug. 7.

The drive-in was made possible by Parking Lot Theatre and Near West Side Partners, along with PEAK Initiative, Neighborhood House, Midtown Neighborhood Alliance, Milwaukee Alderman Russell Stamper and Black Lens with the support of the presenting sponsor, Progressive Community Health Centers.
