MILWAUKEE (CBS 58) -- Milwaukee Police say a 34-year-old woman died after being shot early Wednesday morning near 25th and Chambers.
Authorities say they were called to the scene around 4:20 a.m. Police were on scene investigating for several hours. Crime scene tape blocked off several homes, backyards and an alley.
Police say they are searching for suspects.
A neighbor who lives across the street from the shooting says she thought she heard firecrackers and didn't think much of it, now, after learning someone was killed, she says she is going to be extra cautious.
"Well it makes me feel kind of scared a little bit," Milwaukee resident Janeka Winters said. "There's crime everywhere if you ask me, but you have to be careful out here."
An investigation into the incident is ongoing.

MILWAUKEE (CBS 58) -- Milwaukee Police were dispatched to a shooting near N. 25th St. and W. Chambers St. around 4:20 a.m. on Wednesday on the city's north side.
The Milwaukee County Medical Examiner's office confirms to CBS 58 that they have been called to the scene. Circumstances regarding the shooting are still under investigation by the Milwaukee Police Department.
