Emergency warming room opens at Repairers of the Breach near 14th and Vliet

MILWAUKEE (CBS 58) -- With incoming bitter cold temperatures, Milwaukee's Repairers of the Breach (ROTB) emergency warming shelter will open its doors Wednesday, Dec. 23.

In collaboration with Milwaukee Continuum of Care, ROTB says they will serve as a “safety net” for Milwaukee’s homeless.

The nonprofit's warming room -- located at 1335 W Vliet Street in Milwaukee -- will be open from 7 p.m. to 7 a.m. whenever the temperature drops to 20 degrees or below. Capacity is reduced due to comply with COVID-19 safety protocols.

ROTB says additional rooms have been repurposed to help maximize capacity.

Winter essentials will be distributed throughout the winter season at the shelter.
