MILWAUKEE (CBS 58) -- Milwaukee-area shoppers can expect a wide variety of fresh food this month, as farmers markets prepare to open for the season.
Ian Thompson with VISIT Milwaukee joined us on Wednesday, May 3 to offer a full preview.
The West Allis Farmers Market, known for its seasonal offerings, will run from May 6 to Nov. 25. Meanwhile, the Brookfield Farmers Market, a community staple for over 32 years, is set to operate on Saturdays, 7:30 a.m. to noon, from May 6 through Oct. 28.
The Fondy Farmers Market, often touted as Milwaukee's largest and most diverse farmers market, will open for its early season from May 13 to July 1, with the regular season commencing on July 8 and continuing through Oct. 29.
The Greenfield Farmers Market, promoting sustainable agriculture and local business, will take place on Sundays from May through October, excluding May 28, from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m.
The Oak Creek Farmers Market, offering farm-fresh foods in a modern community space, will be open Saturdays, 9 a.m. to 1 p.m., from May 6 through Oct. 21, except on July 22.
