Feed Your Soul art event marks 2 decades of combating hunger

MILWAUKEE (CBS 58) -- The longtime Milwaukee art event, Feed Your Soul, is returning to the House of RAD on Friday, Nov. 3, marking its 20th year of aiming to utilize the transformative power of art into the fight against local hunger.

The event, a fundraiser for Feeding America Eastern Wisconsin, combines the efforts of nearly 50 artists in a live artmaking showcase to aid community members in need.

This year’s gathering will feature a variety of art forms, from live painting to aerial acrobatics, all produced in real-time as attendees watch. Notable artists include muralist Dave Watkins and Youth Poet Laureate Emily Igwike. Guests can also enjoy music, food and handcrafted drinks, with the evening culminating in an auction of the art pieces created during the event.

Feed Your Soul has proven to be a powerful philanthropic force, raising over $1 million since its inception in 2003. According to a Thursday, Nov. 2 press release, in 2022, the event facilitated over half a million meals for families across the region, emphasizing the pivotal role the arts play in community support and engagement.
