Meteorological summer wrap up
RACINE, Wis. (CBS 58) -- Jack-O’-Lantern Nights at the Racine Zoo is entering its final weekend. Over 1,000 intricately designed jack-o’-lanterns have been lighting up the zoo since Sept. 26.
The event runs Thursdays through Sundays from 6 p.m. to 10 p.m., with last admission at 9:30 p.m. Admission is $10 per person, and children 2 years and younger are admitted free. Tickets are available only at the door.
Executive director Beth Heidorn and conservation education manager Abby Flores talked about what makes the event special when they joined us on Monday, Oct. 28, including pumpkin sculptures shaped like animals, including giraffes, rhinos and tigers.
Seasonal food and beverages are available on site.
A decorating contest allows businesses and organizations to participate, with guests voting for their favorite displays. The winner will be announced at the end of the event on Sunday, Nov. 3.
