On Wednesday, March 9, FlexRide Milwaukee formally launched, helping Milwaukee residents get to and from their jobs in Waukesha County.
All you have to do is fill out an application, create a FlexRide account and then start booking rides.
You can be picked up at one of five Milwaukee County Transit System bus stops.
Just like an Uber or Lyft, you can request a ride on the app and a car will pick you up, likely with other people, and take you to your job or job interview.
The rides are either free or $1.50.
The service has been extensively tested, but it's still a pilot program.
"Whether FlexRide is sustained beyond the pilot program depends on how much support it receives and whether riders and businesses find it valuable," said Kevin Muhs of the Southeastern Wisconsin Regional Planning Commission.
It's open to all Milwaukee residents 18 and older.
