Units from the FFD were immediately dispatched.
Fire companies reported fire showing from a first-floor unit in the two-story motel.
One resident, who resides in the room of fire origin, was transported to a local hospital with injuries related to the fire. No other injuries were reported.
Occupants from about 20 other living units were displaced due to the fire. A MCTS bus responded to the scene to provide temporary shelter for residents. The Red Cross is assisting two families with temporary housing until the structure is safe to return to, according to the fire department.
