Meet CBS 58’s Pet of the Week: Stealth
Those close to Domingo "Luis" Rodriguez describe him as a "great person."
He used to work at the Bucca di Beppo on Van Buren before it moved to Greenfield. That's where he met Adriana Guillen and a few others.
"We were a big family," said Guillen.
Last week, Guillen found out that Rodriguez was badly beaten near 13th and Lincoln. He was taken to the hospital and died from injuries on Thursday.
"He didn't deserve to die like that. I am really hoping justice can be found, " said Guillen.
His former coworkers, friends and neighbors scoured the internet searching for his family. But after a couple of days, they've had no luck.
The medical examiner's office said as of Sunday workers have not made contact with the family. Rodriguez's body will stay at the medical examiner's office until the family steps up.
If they do not find his family, Luis' friends and coworkers will have a proper burial for him.
"We might be able to get the body, us friends, because there are a lot of people that love him," said Guillen.
They also started a GoFundMe to help with funeral expenses. So far, they've raised more than $700.
