WAUKESHA COUNTY, Wis. (CBS 58) -- If you see a fawn by itself, wildlife groups want you to leave it alone.
HAWS of Waukesha says a worried homeowner brought a fawn in thinking the animal was abandoned.
Staff brought the fawn back to where it was found and say the mother was waiting for it. HAWS says if you're concerned about a baby deer, leave it where it is.
HAWS says if a found fawn is continuously crying for more than 24 hours:
1. DO NOT try to feed or medicate the fawn.
2. Contact Wildlife in Need for advice on next steps at 262-965-3090; leave a message with your information or reference their website at helpingwildlife.org
