MENOMONEE FALLS, Wis. (CBS 58) -- Thousands of people continue to mourn and share their favorite moments of baseball legend Bob Uecker, who passed Jan. 16th at the age of 90.

Harvey Moy's Chinese and American Restaurant in Menomonee Falls has been a special place for the Uecker family for decades.

To owner Harvey Moy, Bob Uecker is more than just a baseball legend, he's a dear friend who stumbled into his restaurant more than 45 years ago.

"At the moment, I didn’t even recognize him with a Miller Lite and baseball cap on," said Moy. "He said I want a duck dish with a sweet and sour."

Uecker's request inspired Moy to create a new Lychee Duck dish. Uecker then became a restaurant regular and his order became popular fast, earning it spot on the menu named after Mr. Baseball himself.

"He loved it." said Moy. "Nine out of 10 times he comes to the restaurant he ordered it and then we became friends."

Moy and his family who run the restaurant grew to be fast friends with Uecker, always saving his favorite spot for him.

"He would come in, there's a certain spot for him and then he'd always be there," said Elliot Moy, who is a chef at the restaurant.

Spending more than four decades together, they say he was funny, sharp and most importantly family.

"So, over the years he was an uncle to me, so I called him Uncle Bob," said Elliot Moy.

While Uecker may be gone, precious moments and pieces of his legacy are seen all across the restaurant.
