Homeless Veterans initiative helps get supplies to those in need
It's a drive to help those military Veterans who are going through a rough time.
Milwaukee Mayor Tom Barrett, Milwaukee County Executive Chris Abele and the Milwaukee Homeless Veterans Initiative teamed up to put this drive on. This is the eighth annual drive to help homeless veterans.
People can donate any number of items from toiletries to forks and knives.
There's a long list of items people can donate - this years goal is 250 of each item.
Mayor Barrett said this is really important at this time of year.
\"The underlying goal is to treat those individuals who have put their lives on the line to keep the freedoms of this country that we all cherish - to give them the respect that they deserve,\" Barrett said.
There's 75 participating Walgreens locations throughout the area.
