MILWAUKEE (CBS 58) -- It's been a weekend of celebration for Milwaukee's LGBTQ+ community.
Pride Fest wrapped up on the Summerfest grounds on Saturday, June 8. The parade concluded the festivities on Sunday, June 9.
The parade was nonstop cheering, dancing, and singing. The parade officially ended around 5:00 p.m., but for three hours, the streets were packed with thousands watching from along the sidewalks.
It was the largest parade in Milwaukee's history with about 190 units participating, including CBS 58.
Organizers say this year's theme is respecting our past, and honoring our future, something that many parade attendees told CBS 58 that is important always, and not just today.
“I love the energy, I love everybody coming together, supporting everybody because this is a community that we need to include everybody so just love the vibes. Great vibes here," said Oscar Patterson, parade attendee.
The parade market the end of a weekend of celebrations following Pride Fest, Wisconsin's largest LGBTQ+ festival.
