MILWAUKEE (CBS 58) -- The Wheel of Fortune is a family favorite and now it's your chance to get on the show. Friday is the last day to audition in Southeast Wisconsin.
Hundreds of Wheel of Fortune fans packed the Steinhafels in Oak Creek Thursday for the first day of auditions. Fans from all over the state came in hopes they can get on the national game show.
A Franklin woman in the crowd has already been on Wheel of Fortune winning about $40K. It’s an experience she will never forget.
“It was terrifying, exhilarating and the most fun you've ever had all at the same time,” Former Contestant Lisa Hutchins said.
While Lisa Hutchins can’t compete, her competitive fiancé is hoping to have a chance to get on the show.
“I try to beat her all the time. And now that she was on, it is my turn. So we came here and it's game on,” Brent Maynerd said.
The Wheel of Fortune is a huge part of their life. It even inspired Maynerd’s proposal.
“Right before I was on the show, he proposed with a wheel of fortune puzzle when we were practicing. It was really neat,” Hutchins said.
Fans in the crowd are randomly selected and called on stage to play the game. Wheelmobile producers are looking for contestants with personality, skills for the game and someone looking to have fun.
“Our goal is to get them on the show and give them Wheel of Fortune’s money. It starts right here,” Traveling Host Marty Lublin said.
Auditions will be held again on Friday, October 27 at Steinhafels in Oak Creek. The shows are at 4, 5:30, and 7 p.m.
