MILWAUKEE (CBS 58) -- The Milwaukee County Courthouse looked a little like Santa's workshop today with toys of all shapes and sizes.
These gifts, hundreds of them, were donated as part of the annual City and County Holiday Drive.
This is a targeted drive each year, and for 2024, the donations will benefit Meta House, a nonprofit that helps women and families to overcome addition.
The president and CEO of Meta House says the gifts on display will support the women who receive them on their journey to recovery.
"We hear time and again from families that have been served by Meta House that they remember the holidays that they celebrated with Meta House because for some of them, it was the first time that they were celebrating with their moms in a healthy environment," said Valerie Vidal, president and CEO of Meta House.
Mayor Cavalier Johnson and County Executive David Crowley also expressed their gratitude to those who made donations, and to the Brewers Community Foundation, a partner in the drive.
