'If I could save time in a bottle': A.J. Croce celebrates father's legacy with Milwaukee concert
MILWAUKEE (CBS 58) -- A.J. Croce will take the stage at the Pabst Theater on Friday, April 5, 2024, honoring the 50th anniversaries of his father Jim Croce’s seminal albums.
The Milwaukee performance is part of the "Croce Plays Croce 50th Anniversary Tour," which kicks off in mid-October of this year.
Focusing on three classic albums, including You Don’t Mess Around with Jim, Life and Times and I Got a Name, the tour also features a band of seasoned musicians and a multimedia presentation accompanying Jim Croce’s songs.
A.J. Croce said in a press release announcing the tour, “We’ll be playing songs representative from all three albums, and also some songs the audience might not know from more obscure artists that connected me and my father. It was those songs that led me to do this show in the first place.”
The albums turning 50 in 2023, Life and Times and I Got a Name include hits like “Bad, Bad Leroy Brown” and “I’ll Have to Say I Love You in a Song.”
Doors open at 7 p.m., with the show starting at 8 p.m. Tickets will be available starting Friday, Sept. 29 at 10 a.m.
