Inclusive holiday party for those on the autism spectrum happening in mid-December
WAUWATOSA, Wis. (CBS 58) -- A special holiday party for a special group of people: that's what will be taking place as Wisconsin's single largest Autism Affiliate organization, serving the community for 50 years, is once again hosting its annual sensory-friendly holiday party.
This free event, put on by the Autism Society Southeastern Wisconsin, is geared toward families and individuals with those on the spectrum, sensory sensitivities or others needing a modified environment to get into the holiday spirit.
At the gathering, there will be cookie decorating, crafts, games, a winter wonderland photo booth, free children’s books and even a sensory-friendly Santa. This year's special Autism holiday party will be Friday, Dec. 16 between 9 and 11 a.m. at the Richardson School in Brookfield.
Those planning to attend are asked to register in advance, and attendees with special dietary needs should plan to bring their own snacks. All the information about this holiday party, including signing up, is right here.
