Irish culture on display for St. Patrick's celebration in downtown Milwaukee

MILWAUKEE - After a busy weekend, local pubs are once again packed with party-goers.

The celebrations started at 6 a.m. Monday in Downtown Milwaukee, filing the streets with a sea of green.

Folks of all ages dressed in the holiday color to enjoy a green beer and get a taste of the traditional flavor of corned beef and cabbage.

Tina Lawler, director of marketing for Trinity Three Irish Pubs, said the bar prepares for the day the entire year. There will be live bands throughout the night and a performance by the Trinity Irish Dancers.

The party ends at 2 a.m. Tuesday.

Anyone celebrating is encouraged to do so responsibly.

Free bus rides are available on all Milwaukee County Transit System routes starting at 6 Monday night.

The safe rides home are courtesy of Miller Lite and Beer Capitol Distributing.
