Johnny Cash's 1968 Folsom Prison concert revisited at Milwaukee's Pabst Theater 🎸
MILWAUKEE (CBS 58) -- "Well, if they freed me from this prison, if that railroad train was mine, I bet I'd move it on a little farther down the line. Far from Folsom prison, that's where I want to stay, and I'd let that lonesome whistle blow my blues away."
The Folsom Prison Experience, a semi-immersive show that recreates Johnny Cash's famous 1968 concert at Folsom Prison, is coming to Milwaukee's Pabst Theater.
Audiences can expect a high-intensity depiction of the iconic musician's life-changing day, complete with set pieces, sounds and character performances.
The show is scheduled for Friday, Jan. 19, 2024, with doors opening at 6:30 p.m. and the performance beginning at 7:30 p.m.
Attendees are encouraged to participate in the experience by dressing in prison inmate attire, according to the show's director, Stephanie Long.
Noteworthy cast members include Jay Ernest from the Church of Cash, Kat Perkins, Ryan Maddux, Dan Hopman, Ryan Nelson, Jonathon TeBeest, Tony Wirth, Jack Mansk and others. However, the final cast lineup may change as the performance date approaches.
Tickets go on sale to the public on Friday, Aug. 4 at 10 a.m. For further details, visit the Pabst Theater's official website.
